About Maguires Country Parks

The Past

The Maguire family purchased their first country park at Low Carrs, County Durham in 1981. The park at Ord House followed in 2003, with Newbus Grange in 2004, and more recently Swainby in 2008.

Our aim is to create beautiful, peaceful and relaxing Country Parks, that appeal to people who are looking for 'a glass of wine, a book and a barbeque' if you prefer 10 pints of lager and a curry, our parks are not for you.

From the outset we have been committed to improving and maintaining our parks, and we have invested heavily in order to do so.

Both Ord House and Newbus Grange are 5 star country parks and are proud to be 2 of only 47 parks in the UK to be members of Best of British.

The Present

Maguires Country Parks is a family run business, so we are 'hands on' with all our Parks. We realise that the initial investment means nothing if our high standards are not maintained, so we are constantly looking at ways to improve facilities and services, both on the Parks themselves and by training and caring for the wonderful team of people we have working with us. Of course it is very important that both present and future guests have all the information they could possibly need about our Parks. Which is why we have created our 4 new websites, which include lots of pictures and information, both about the Parks and their vicinities.

The Future

Maguires Country Parks will be handed down from father to son, we regard the ownership of the Parks as a lifestyle, so whilst profitability is obviously important to us, because we have no intention of selling, we can look at the long term. This means we can continue to invest without worrying about whether we will see an immediate financial return.

We will certainly be continuing to care for our Parks and our guests as we always have... beautifully.
