Ord House Country Park, which features areas designated to holiday homes, lodges, touring caravans and tents, is located in the grounds of Ord House Manor, built originally for Admiral Godolfin Osborne in 1789.

Members of the Osborne family lived at Ord House until 1954, when the estate was sold to George Marshall, manager of the former Walter Willson store in Berwick, George bought the Ord House estate with a local solicitor and builder. Within two years George had quit his job, bought out his partners and created a holiday park that was to be his pride and joy for 40 years, until his death in 1991.
The Maguire family purchased the park from George’s son in 2003 and have continued to make improvements, improving shower blocks and playgrounds, landscaping and the roads, but always keeping true to George’s vision, maintaining Ord House as a beautiful, peaceful and relaxing country park.

An amble into Berwick and you open a gateway to a variety of exciting activities, several superb golf courses, watch the Berwick Bandits Speedway stars or enjoy a Berwick Rangers football match at Shielfield Park, all just a few minutes walk away.

For the more adventurous the holiday kingdom of Northumbria beckons, with Lindisfarne, Alnwick, Bamburgh, Seahouses and the Farne Islands all within about half an hour’s drive. To the west, the Cheviot Hills provide wonderful walking and both Edinburgh and Newcastle are under 40 minutes away by train.

The Maguires Bar caters for the romantic meal for two or should you prefer, an excellent bar meal or family meal, all served with fine wines, beers and a smile.

The on-site family lounge is alcohol free so you can stay until the wee small hours. It’s on nights like these that you start ‘Making Memories’.

If you prefer a tent, a tourer or a motor home then Ord House is the place for you. Ord House is the ideal location to discover the Scottish Borders and the idyllic Northumberland coastline.

All our touring pitches are spacious with electric hook ups. Pitches with water hook-ups and drainage facilities are available on request.
