Focus On: Glamping

20 Mar 2020

With Valentines Day and the Easter Break fast approaching why not book a not-so-typical getaway and choose glamping at Ord House Country Park?

A more sophisticated alternative to the billowing canvas and misplaced tent poles that characterize the usual british camping holiday; glamping is in fact ‘glamorous camping’. Glamping takes your camping experience to the next level, giving you all of the romance of a camping holiday without the inconvenience of pitching a tent, struggling with sleeping bags and trying to light your camping stove.

If you book at glamping holiday with us at Ord House Country Park, you will be staying in one of our stunning Wishbone Lodges. Set in their own area away from the main park, they are the perfect getaway for a couples retreat. The wishbone lodges – or pods – all feature electric lighting and plug sockets, so you can charge  your ipad and get the romantic movies on the go, as well as light double glazing and a veranda to position your deck chairs if the sun is shining – though that’s one thing we can’t guarantee you! Simply bring your own bedding as you would if you were actually camping and you’re set.

We’re the first to admit that there’s something sweet and nostalgic about a camping holiday, but we say why not enjoy some of life’s luxuries while you’re at it?

Our Wishbone Lodges aren’t just for couples however. If you don’t have plans for two, our wishbone lodges do sleep up to four people and we allow one canine companion per lodge, so your furry friend is more than welcome.

And what to do once you’re at Ord House? Maguires Bar & Grill is the place to go for a delicious meal with your favourite tipple and the beautiful surrounding area is just waiting to be explored. Woodland walkways and historical sights abound – visit our Local Area page for more inspiration on what to do during your stay with us!

We look forward to welcoming you,

The Maguire Family.
