What to do in the area?

History

The Kaims Country Park Northumberland is near the beautiful village of Bamburgh, home of the impressive Bamburgh Castle. This sandstone castle which overlooks a beautiful beach and the Farne Islands was perfectly described by William Tomlinson, “A more impregnable stronghold could not be imagined, for rugged strength and barbaric grandeur – it is the king of Northumbrian castles. From nearly every point of the compass its majestic outlines are visible.”

Shopping

Take a day away from the Kaims Bamburgh, enjoy a day shopping the fashion boutiques of nearby market town Berwick upon Tweed. Sample the local fayre in the cafes and restaurants or if you have the time, in a little under an hour, you could be across the border in the Scottish capital, Edinburgh. Walk the Royal Mile, experience the hustle and bustle of Scotland’s capital city.

Family Activities

Alnwick Castle a stones throw from The Kaims Bamburgh is not only an ancient fortress of special interest to historians, it is also the location for many a famous films, notably including the Harry Potter films, Elizabeth and Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.

There is plenty to entertain in the local area of The Kaims Caravan Park, enjoy the theatre, cinema, swimming pool, sandy beaches including many superb golf courses, trout and salmon fishing on the Tweed, sea angling, sailing, diving, horse riding, cycling and quad biking.

Wildlife

Watch the Swans on the mouth of the Tweed, admire the puffins on the Farne Islands, or take a boat trip from Seahouses to Farne Islands, watch for the grey seals or if you are really lucky watch for the dolphins.

The Kaims Country Park located on the The World Heritage Coastline of Northumberland is the home to some of the rarest wildlife in the Country, with the Northumberland National Park within driving distance, the area is a must for wildlife watchers and to experience the best coastline in the Country.
